OCTOBER GARDEN TIPS:
Keep up with the leaf removal. As the leaves fall and temperatures cool don’t forget to keep those leaves out of your garden. Fallen leaves will collect and create a place for water to pool and freeze which will start to rot the foliage on your plants. Keep the leaves raked out of your herb garden to avoid losing plants through the fall and winter. Go ahead and weed the garden one last time to stop the further spread of their roots. Take out a note pad and spend sometime remembering back over the growing season gone, what worked well and not so well, what plants you enjoyed, the problems that surfaced and so on. Make plans for next years garden. Maybe plan on spring vegetable garden, adding another raised bed and so on. Plan now so you can start working towards those goals. Enjoy the winter break!!!!!
