Spring Herb Faire 2013 Friday, May 3rd Schedule

Our Biggest Event… 9th Annual Herb Faire is now over two weekends to make it more
convenient for you to come out. Come out and meet the artisans behind the products in the store, take a few free classes or join the farm tour and see how all the operation comes together. Don’t forget to reserve lunch and make a real day of it out at the farm. Either way you go we would love to see you at the farm to enjoy what is offered.
There will be plenty of herb & veggie plants for you to choose from! It will be a great time for everyone rain or shine!

9 am -Open

10am – Growing Herbs & Veggies Class. Learn how to enjoy growing your herbs and vegetables this year. We will discuss planning your gardening area from containers to raised beds to large scale. We also cover soil ph, mulching, fertilizing, weed control and lots more. Talk is free, come and go as you please.

11am –Free Tastings on the Patio until 12.30pm. Join Jenny Panchison on the patio for free tastings with all things herbal. She will also help with how to use your herbs into more of your food.

11am – Lunch by reservation. Enjoy lunch at the farm overlooking the gardens*CLICK TO RESERVE 11AM

11am – Why Soy Candles. Listen while local Artisan John Eriksson explains how he makes his soy candles. John has been making only soy candles for the past six years and is locally known for his quality products. John explains the benefits of soy as well as the correct way to burn a soy candle. Demonstration is free, come and go as you please.

11am – Raised Bed Gardening. This class covers growing herbs and vegetables in a raised bed. We will discuss layout, soil conditioning, ongoing care and harvesting. Talk is free, come and go as you please.

12pm – Lunch by reservation. Enjoy lunch at the farm overlooking the gardens*Noon lunch is full. Please select 11am, 1pm or 2pm

12pm – Natural Soap and Skin Care. Informational Lecture on natural soap and skincare products by creator Robin Knight – Robin only uses natural ingredients to make her soap and skincare products with no chemical or preservatives to maintain the highest quality product offered. She explains the benefits of the individual products, their uses and how they help maintain healthy skin. Talk is free, come and go as you please.

1pm – Lunch by reservation. Enjoy lunch at the farm overlooking the gardens*CLICK TO RESERVE 1PM

1pm – Cooking with Herbs. Even if you have no idea of how to grow or what to do with them, this class will get you familiar with flavors and techniques to use more fresh herbs and vegetables in your cooking but also have it taste better and be better for you than anything out out of a packet or box. Talk is free, come and go as you please.

2pm – Lunch by reservation. Enjoy lunch at the farm overlooking the gardens*CLICK TO RESERVE 2PM

2pm – Farm Tour. Come see the rest of the farm and what we do. Enjoy touring the property past the beehives up to the commercial growing operation and back along the river to the retail store. This is a walking tour so please dress accordingly. Tour is free, please meet at the front of the store a few minutes before.

5pm – Close
