Home Farming Series July (Canning & Preserving)

July: Harvesting and Preserving Herbs and Vegetables. Let us show you how to harvest from your garden or containers so it may be preserved for the coming winter. Enjoy the taste of fresh herbs and vegetables through the winter with these techniques to get the most out of what you have grown. The class will involve learning how to can, freezing and drying techniques of the most popular herbs and vegetables as well as how to store your ready made items like salsas and sauces. The class will move from the kitchen to the garden as needed.
Registration and payment of $50 per person is required in advance via the website. This class includes lunch and is located at the farm, 11300 Winfrey Rd, Glen Allen VA. Lunch will be served at 12pm and the class will follow at 1pm until 3pm. Class and lunch fees are non refundable.
